Western Red Cedar Shingles Perfection

<Western Red Cedar Shingles Perfection>
Perfection #1 Blue Rebel

Western Red Cedar (WRC) grows mainly along the Pacific Coast of Canada and the USA. Its warm texture, deep color, aroma, and natural durability make it a favourite for both exterior structures and interior finishes.

WRC shingles are sawn and uniform, giving a clean, refined look, while WRC shakes are split, thicker, and more textured for a traditional, rugged appearance. Historically, they were widely used for roofing, siding, and other outdoor structures throughout coastal North America.

Higher-grade material is tight-grained, stable, and visually clean, ideal for roofs and siding where appearance and longevity matter. Lower-grade material is more knotty and cost-effective, commonly used for garages, sheds, dog houses, and general outdoor projects. Within the same grade, old growth fiber offers the tightest grain and best stability, while second growth fiber provides solid performance for budget-conscious applications.
